Advocate ~ Collaborate ~ Educate
WCMS members secure a seat at the table to raise ideas and be a part of the solution.
The practice of medicine is changing rapidly. From legislative and regulatory issues, to state and local ordinances, external forces impact the education and practice of our profession daily. The COVID-19 pandemic exposed gaps in the health care system, but we now have increased opportunities to address them. More than ever, we need to work collectively with our health care colleagues, administrators and elected leaders to achieve a more effective and equitable system.
WCMS members work in conjunction with the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS), neighboring counties, specialty societies, and the American Medical Association (AMA) to address pressing advocacy and public health issues. As one of the largest and most effective physician delegations in the state of Michigan, the Washtenaw County Medical Society is proud to have a direct line to legislators, develop unique programming, and support members in their bids to serve in critical leadership roles that advance medicine for both physicians and patients.
