WCMS Legislative Committee Meeting on Monday, Feb. 18

All WCMS members and area legislators are welcome to attend and speak at these informative meetings. Discussions, led by a staff representative of the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS), center on legislation and how it will impact physicians, patients, practices, and public health. Federal, state, and local legislators speak directly with WCMS members about strategic legislative priorities. Coffee and breakfast items provided.

MSMS Opioid Town Hall on Monday, Feb. 25 in Jackson

The Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) is hosting an Opioid Town Hall to discuss relevant issues and concerns related to the opioid and illicit drug crisis and related prescribing laws. The Town Hall will bring together physicians and other interested stakeholders to discuss relevant issues and concerns related to the opioid and illicit drug crisis and related prescribing laws. CME credits (1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™) are available.

In-person and livestreamed audience is encouraged to submit case studies ahead of time and will be able to ask related questions during meeting.

WCMS Membership Event: Speed Mentoring & Networking on Wednesday, Feb. 27

Join WCMS at our premier networking event of the year! Much like speed dating, attendees will rotate in timed sessions to speak with a wide range of physician leaders at the sound of a bell.

This is a great event for medical students and physicians considering: fellowship opportunities, academic and employed paths, research grants, and more!

MSMS House of Delegates Resolution Deadline: March 1

The House of Delegates (HOD) is the official policy-making body of MSMS. Resolutions are the vehicles used to debate and determine the policies, priorities, and direction of MSMS. Last year's resolutions centered on marijuana usage, opioids and pain management, Maintenance of Certification (MOC), sexual abuse, and more.

The deadline for individual resolution submissions to MSMS is March 1 by 5:00 PM through this online link.
