22nd Annual Conference on Bioethics in Ann Arbor

Make sure to fulfill your ethics requirement at the upcoming MSMS Conference on Bioethics Saturday, Nov. 10 from 9 AM - 4 PM at the Holiday Inn in Ann Arbor.

The conference will discuss the ethical aspects of conscientious objection and other areas of provider-selected patient care preferences.

  • Define the concept of physician conscientious objection
  • Examine boundaries between personal morality and professional responsibility
  • Recognize moral distress
  • Explore the ethical implications of concierge/VIP medicine
  • Understand ethical issues in resource allocation

BCBS Grants MOC Exceptions

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan will begin granting board certifications exceptions for family practice, internal medicine and pediatric practitioners that are designated as Patient-Centered Medical Home providers.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan will continue to verify board certification statuses of practitioners in their Blue Cross and Blue Care Network managed care networks. Effective Jan. 1, the board certification status of family medicine, internal medicine, and pediatric practitioners will be reviewed annually.

FREE Membership for U of M House Officers to WCMS/MSMS

Encourage your colleagues to take advantage of free membership to WCMS and MSMS through the end of November.

WCMS has partnered with the UM House Officers Association (HOA) to secure 200 one-year membership positions for University of Michigan house officers at no cost to either the HOA or the applicants, a savings of $45.

The WCMS Alliance (WCMSA) invites you and your loved ones to celebrate the giving season with cookies and refreshments on Saturday, Dec. 8 from 2:30-4:30 PM. Make sure to have your cameras on-hand for a special appearance from a favorite Disney snowman!
