MSMS 2018 House of Delegates

This year, 14 delegates represented our county at the annual MSMS House of Delegates (HOD) meeting in Dearborn. Resolutions voted on during HOD direct MSMS policy initiatives for the upcoming year. Major discussions centered on marijuana usage, opioids and pain management, Maintenance of Certification (MOC), sexual abuse, but the largest area of discussion was on MSMS Organizational Remodeling. Thank you to our delegates who represented our county so well!

MedConnect with Dr. Eden Wells

Dr. Eden Wells, Chief Medical Executive, MI Department of Health and Human Services, addressed WCMS at our "Activism" MedConnect event on May 9. Dr. Wells discussed "Public Service during Public Health Crisis." View a full review of the event in the August edition of the WCMS Bulletin.

WCMS Meets with Legislators

WCMS boasts strong relationships with local and state elected officials. Our Legislative Committee recently welcomed State Reps. Donna Lasinski, Yusef Rabhi, and Adam Zemke at our quarterly meeting. The committee and legislators discussed including Medicaid work requirements, the state's sexual assault bill package, opioids, budget priorities, and more.
